We EMPOWER individuals through life changing transportation, by providing workspace and tools, and cultivating enthusiastic community participation to advance our vision. We EDUCATE people wanting to learn about bicycles and bicycle maintenance.

We REVIVE bicycles to get them on the streets of Austin and make them available to all.

Yellow Bike Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community bike shop in Austin, TX.

Mission Statement

The Yellow Bike Project(YBP) 501c(3) is an all-volunteer initiative to put bicycles on the streets of Austin and Central Texas by operating community bike shops, teaching bike mechanics and maintenance, and acting as a local bike advocacy group.

About

The Yellow Bike Project assists Bikes Across Borders, another Austin-based organization, by making bicycles available for riders in the annual BxB trip to Mexico.

Services

Yellow Bike Project provides the following services:

  • Refurbishing donated bicycles for nominal resale and charity purposes
  • Community access to bike repair knowledge, tools and shop space
  • Earn-A-Bike program for Adults
  • Bikes to Schools Program
