Mission Statement The Bozeman Bike Kitchen is a cooperative cycling center dedicated to making the use of bicycles as transportation and fun possible for all members of the Bozeman, Montana community. We need volunteers of all ages and abilities to help us refurbish bikes. Experienced mechanics needed to mentor new mechanics, and to run work nights. Volunteers will be eligible for free bikes and/or parts depending on the number of hours worked.

The Bozeman Bike Kitchen is a 501c3 nonprofit located in Bozeman, Montana. We accept all donations of bicycles, parts, and cash allowing us to offer free and low cost bicycles to Bozeman and the surrounding Gallatin County. We partner with local social organizations such as the Gallatin Valley Food Bank, the Human Resource Development Council, Love Inc., and more to provide free bicycles to those in need. We also have an Earn-a-Bike program wherein volunteers who offer up an eight-hour commitment will then be able to build up a bicycle from our stock of frames and parts for themselves.

Contact Info

We are located in the garage behind the house at 425 East Aspen Street in Bozeman, Montana. From Rouse Avenue, go East on Aspen (look for The Meat Shoppe) and then proceed to the last house on the left. Please do not disturb the tenants in the house. Hours of operation are Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 8pm. Please see our website for the most up to date hours.

History

We have grown from a grassroots, DIY operation in our founder's driveway, to an organization that squatted in a chicken coop on school district property, to a full service bicycle shop with 501c3 non-profit status.

Services Offered

We are a full-service bike shop staffed by a knowledgeable, unpaid staff of volunteers. Our primary focus is refurbishing used bicycles for re-distribution into the Gallatin Valley community. We offer paid bicycle repair services when staff is available but request you work alongside a mechanic in order to educate yourself on how to make these repairs yourself. This service is available for a per hour donation.
