Mission Statement

Our mission is to use the bicycle as a tool to

empower people and build healthier communities.

Pedals2People is ...

The Pedals2People Self-Service Bike Shop and Resource Center provides a place where you can learn to work on your bike. We have trained bike mechanics and volunteers to help you. We welcome you to visit, borrow resource materials, bring your own bike to work on, and shop for new and used parts.

We understand that everyone comes to cycling at different stages and for different reasons, and we respect those differences.

See our calendar for open-shop days/ times and additional events.

History

P2P was founded in 2005 by a group of four close friends. Our first programs were Build-A-Bike, DIY Shop, and Free Tune-Up Events at two local street fairs. P2P also partnered with the Village Bike Project to collect bikes for Ghana in 2006.

Services Offered

Priority Projects for P2P are Self-Service Community Bike Shop and Neighborhood Free Bike Tune-ups. We have participating since 2005 in low-income neighborhood events offering free-bike tune ups. Typically we participate in two events and services 40 bicycles at each event, the majority of which are kids' bikes.
