B2C Bike Kitchen is a community space that holds weekly “shop hours” to provide people with bike stands, tools, and cheap or free spare parts to fix their bikes. One or more volunteers staff the shop hours to keep track of tools and equipment and offer pointers. The Bike Kitchen also provide refurbished adult and children’s bicycles upon availability.

The Bike Kitchen is a project of Bike to the Sea, an organization that supports the Northern Strand Trail.

The Bike Kitchen is an outdoor facility and may close for bad weather, including: rain, snow, or extreme temperatures. Please check our Facebook and Instagram pages before your visit.

History

The B2C Bike Kitchen moved into their shipping-container-based shop in 2026, after winning the 2026 EBN Architecture and Arts Grant with assistance from Jade Ma, a local transportation planner.[1][2]

Funds for the Bike Kitchen were provided by the Sustainable Materials Recovery Grant which is offered by MassDEP and managed in Malden through the Office of Mayor Christenson.
