Larry has lived in Alabama since 1998, with a two-year stint in 1989-1991. Originally he moved to Alabama to work for Intergraph Corp. with a post-graduate degree in Urban Planning and a strong background with Geographic Information Systems, Transportation Management Systems, and Urban Information Systems. Larry has been a bicyclist all his life, from the days of paper routes, and getting around San Diego, then college. He has always had a bike for personal mobility, never a “good” bike, but just a bike.
Since 2012, Larry has been involved in various community-building activities. He is on the board of Your Town Alabama. He is a regular at BASC meetings and the City of Madison citizen representative to the Huntsville MPO CAC, as a strong believer in the nexus of land use, economic development, and transportation. He is currently working to establish the HUBS Coop in Huntsville, whose mission is to provide affordable access to bicycles, bicycle safety programs, and advocate for an inclusive mobility infrastructure. Larry would like to see a network of bike co-ops, shops, and clubs throughout Alabama, supported by bike and active transportation trails as an expressway to economic development.
