Talk to Everyone
Word of mouth is an easy way to make an impression and get more people aware of your organization. It's free in the sense that the only cost is a small amount of time. Keep it short and simple. Don't read your mission statement word for word, it's best to bring up only one or two points of interest. Let them know you are a volunteer (if you are) and what your organization does in a nutshell. In closing, hand them a business card that includes phone number, website, shop hours or other information. Be sure to let them know of any opportunities you have for volunteering or donating bicycles or tools.
People that know about your project already are a good audience to practice on and you'll find that the more people you talk to, the easier it is.
